My '02 Aero wagon shares a garage with an '04 TL. It's been that way for 20 years, Saab on one side, Acura on the other. I think it really depends on your individual taste, and what fits your needs. In '04 Acura gave the car a much tighter, sportier feel. I love a tight suspension, but the TL is almost harsh. The Saab gets better gas mileage than the V6 TL. The Saab seats (front and rear, even the regular ones) are far more comfortable than the Acura. And the trunk in the TL is pathetic... the seat in the '04 does not fold down, I don't think that has changed. You can't fit a decent sized box through the rear door in the Acura either.

As for reliability, the '02 Aero has been great, at 83K. The '04 TL has been great, at 145K. In previous years the Acuras have been more reliable than the Saabs in our garage, but part of that is due to the type of driving we do. The Acuras have been driven on the highway a lot, the Saabs driven around town more, which is harder on any car. I have always believed that had we switched cars, the Saabs would have had fewer problems, and the Acuras would have suffered more repairs.

I don't drive the Acura, I only ride in it, so I can't really compare the engines. But I can tell you that my Saab is a blast to drive. Maybe the Acura is too, but I don't like it and have no desire to drive it ;-) If you were to pose the same question on the Acura forum, I am sure the comments would be very different. I think Saab drivers are more passionate about their cars than Acura drivers. That being said, you should drive both, and see which one you like. They are both good cars.
