Thanks for the tip, and for this big pictute vs my original wallet size... I did zactly what you said, but on the thumbnail size.. I do the way you describe next time for sure..
Yea I was optimistic when I saw the pan and very happy that I did so after I saw the sreeen which was shocking.. talk about starving for oil?? I think after all is said and done and I check bearings and pray it runs after assembly... will check oil pressure and decide if need to throw in oil pump, I hope in the end to squeeze a few more years out of this deal???
On my way to drop off my cyl head this AM..
Still debating on IWIS timing chain or pay more for genuine Saab chain as recommended by Stephen G.. if I got 100K miles out of the IWIS I would be happy?? especially since not going the route of complete timing gear rebuild?
ALso still undecided when all is cleaned up as best as possible before assembly if I should chance an Amisol oil flush as recommended in Andrews flow chart?? Read about blown motors after with suspiscion that flushing dislodged chunks and blocked oil passages, but wouldn't the fine mesh screen and oil pumpo catch debris before that?
Many thanks!
