I got my turbo from through car-part and from Pam's Auto, terrific place to work with and I got what I think were fantastic prices. can even see the vehicle parts come off of from.. turbo feels tight and looks oil dry on exhaust side, though a bit blackened with carbon..
All these parts came off of 2004 Aero with 56K miles:
Turbo with all 3 turbo lines and new metal drain pipe $225 (4 mth warranty)
PS pump $25 w/lifetime waranty
140 Amp alternator $45 w/lifetime warranty
pass side intercooler hose $10 (needed one mine was squishy and new was $99!)
BCV 3 hoses set(mine tore removing) that included the BCV to my amazement ($90 new for hoses and BCV) for $10
Complete air box assembly (mine was smashed to my shagrin) with all tubes, rubber hoses, and what appears to be a brand new Saab air filter to boot for $55. Also included to my suprise was new style Aero metal intake pipe to turbo that looks like design was changed for beter air flow? But my 99 PCV hose will not match up to this new style push in PCV fitting to take advantage of this new Aero intake pipe.. and I broke red plastic piece on top thinking tthe brass fitting coud be unscrewed and I could use banjo bolt rom my set up.. not... and bummer there dude as could have has new designed Aero pipe?
New motor/YB plastic cover (my clips were broken and was rattling all over $10..
Total price shipped to my door $450.. priceless. all parts look real nice..
I should have thought of the ECU off of same car, I probably would have gotten a better deal if included in my bulk order.. if when all is back together it seems to runs nice, may consider new ECU.. what's he deal with reprogramming flashing it though as I read needs to be done?? no clue there... yet!
and.. Would using the new Aero metal intake pipe get me any noticable/ better performance/MPG if I can modify it to work/fit my 99 PCV lines? It is certainly a noticeable diference in the inlet and outlet holes with a more oval smooth look than my 99 pipe..
So Savary, how is your engine rebuilt project coming? completed? happy with results and that you DIY'd it out of car?
And much to the wife's dismay, the dishwasher/parts cleaning machine trick also rocks!!
