But on our 1997 Honda Passport which we gave to our son 3 yrs back. The recommended interval was 60k but I but it off until 90k . The belt showed little wear, there are two rollers, one had just a barely detectable amount of play. I could have easily left it alone till at least 100k or 120k . Timing belt kit including water pump was $ 138 from Rock Auto.
So besides maintenenace items - this car had a starter replacement a battery replacement and I had to tear down the NSS and clean in 12 yrs.
but it's a really poorly designed vehicle - even when new. Love the Japanese for reliability though but at opposite ends of our 9-5s for driving enjoyment.
