I hesitate to jump to the computer as the culprit. But the same thing happened to a friends car .. it happened to be a chevy.

I hooked up a scanner, and we drove around for 2 hrs to reproduce it. It happened once or twice on its own. I noticed that when it happened, all sensors went flaky.

so I pulled the computer and I tapped on it while we drove ... I found that could reproduce the problem with a well placed tap on the computer box. We bought a new computer at the junkyard for 50 bucks (did I mention this was a chevy?) popped it in, problem solved.

I dont recommend jumping to the conclusion that your ecu is flaking out, but as Kevin says it does happen.

problems like this take some serious diagnosis. let us know how it goes.
