As I have mentioned elsewhere on this board, a fellow SaabNet member recently purchased our 2005 9-5 Aero sedan. My wife and I looked at several new cars to replace it, and last Friday, we took delivery of a new Griffin Edition Sport Combi. Glass gray metallic with two tone black/parchment seats. I think its a beautiful car, and it's hard to believe that it's such an "old" design. I like the word "classic" better!
It's an automatic, which will take some getting used to, since our two previous 9-5's were manuals. I like most of the changes they made with the "Dame Edna" revisions of a few years ago, and I think the Griffin Edition trim is very nice, particularly the wheels and the seats. I also like the extra head room in the SC with the non-ventilated seats.
It was a tough decision, with so much uncertainty regarding Saab's future, warranty coverage, and dealer status, but we took the big step and went with a new Saab. Our dealer, Dana Saab in Billings, MT, is great, and we hope they stay around selling Saabs for many years.
My appreciation to all the great people here on SaabNet, which makes a big difference in the ownership experience.
John.
