Have your dealer get alignment readings on an alignment rack so you know where you stand. They will probably try springs and dampers first and then the subframe and subframe bushings unless they have more experience than the average dealer. If the subframe is bad, you might as well take the new springs and dampers as well as yours are worn by whatever total mileage you are at.

There doesn't seem to be any logic to this issue with the 9-5. A 1,000 mile loaded trip can throw things out... so can a light load, it just takes more miles. I suspect that an unloaded 9-5 would eventually fail...just not as severely and it would take a lot longer. The car weight alone is too much for the stock suspension which is not designed correctly.
