Well you just helped a good old American company survive, but I bet if you have negotiated with them you could have gotten it done for $ 100 less, maybe more.
I have a friend who sold cars for a while and his only misgiving was that the nicer the person the more they got screwed in the car buying process.
I negotiate a good many things, I'm a sales guy by trade. I once moved to a new area and neeed to get a hair cut - I'm folically challenged and had previously used a shop where I got 40% off the going rate due to time required to cut my hair. I went to an old style barber shop - no one was there but the barber - a really overweight dude lounging in one the chairs watching TV - I asked how much for a haircut he said $15 - I offered $ 10 saying I didn't have much hair - he replied "what's your problem I have to eat to" to which I replied the obvious - "looks like you have no problem doing that" He started to get out of the chair so I bogeyed out of that shop - so when negotiating be prepared not to always come to mutually agreeable terms and remember where the exits are.
