Power Steering hose repair cost?

I just lost a power steering hose after making a hard left turn into a parking spot. I had been cruising at 70 mph prior to this for about 50 miles. I heard a slight noise when I made the turn, and when I came back to the car a few minutes later, a puddle of PS fluid underneath. I had the car towed to a Saab dealer (not my local saab mechanic as this happened far from home). As I suspected, the rear PS hose popped, and needs replacement. They're also telling me that to get to that, they need to remove some oil lines that go to the oil cooler (which are rusty and they say "will definitely break" if removed), as well as the oil cooler AND the other power steering line which is not yet leaking for a total of nearly $2000! I was prepared to pay $500 for this, but $2000 is obscene. My local mechanic says removal of the oil lines is not necessary BECAUSE they're fragile, and it is best not to touch them. I'm in a bind because the car is so far from home. Should I be stern with these guys and tell them it's doable without removing the oil lines? Please help!!
