In regards to the ACC, maybe you just need to fool around a bit with it and program it to your liking. I did this when I first got my 03 Aero (all in the owner's manual) and I personally think it's a great system. The only button I touch now is the temperature controls...either warmer or cooler. Typically it stays at 70 degrees and has been like this forever...summer and winter. Whether it's 100 degrees outside of 10 degrees outside, you can never tell from being inside the car. Honestly, it may be a bit "over engineered", but I think it's done pretty well.
