I'm not sure why GM did not just use the well developed 3.6 liter version, just detune for the lower version. Instead they had to spend millions to develop 2 new V6's (3.0 plus 2.8T) and what value did they really add for the customer? All the competition has a 3.5 V6 or so (MDX, RX350 etc)if they really wanted to, they should just made the 3.6 the base engine AND a low pressure turbo 3.5 as the top version, in the process blowing away the competition and spending less $$ on developmement. No surprise they went broke with this sort of vast wastage of money. The Canadian Driver review of the SRX says the throttle mapping is very poor.
