I think the owners manual says that when the check engine starts to blink that means misfires, which will quickly wreck the catalytic converter because of raw gas going through. So you may be right about 1312- maybe there's another code at the next stage. (I had someone look that code up on the standard OBD-II set up and it also came up odd). But if the blinking starts and a new DIC is not in your trunk, you're in a jam. Unless its in your driveway.
