Thanks for taking the time to put together the DIY.
Six months ago I had three broken wires and I spliced in new sections starting just below the elbow. It makes more sense to put in longer sections and to have the splices protected from the weather like you did. Nice job!
I'll do it in a few days once we get out of the mid 90's with New Jersey humidity. All my car work is done outside in the carport.
