will reduce gas mileage -- mine improved from 20 to 26 after i fixed my 9-3
depending upon which stud is broken its can be a DIY job...usually its the one behind the power steering pump... if so, that makes for more work... assume you will have to pull the p/s pump, exhaust manifold (stainless steel studs by APC are available now) so buy extra replacement studs, new locknuts, a new gasket, and anti-seize compound...
used a diamond tip bit on a dremel tool to "center-punch" the broken stud..then drill out the stud in two steps to allow an stud remover extractor/bit to be used...
used a right angle drill since the clearance from head to radiator was cramped....
