On the theory that it is not a coincidence when I have just done one repair and another thing does't work . . .
Check the three vaccum lines to the coolant bypass valve's electronic interface (center of false firewall, below bypass valve). Those are close to the area that you needed to open up for your blower replacement. I just replaced the coolant bypass valve on our 9-5, and one of the three lines was near new, while the other two were getting pretty badly cracked. If the lines are not connected properly or are cracked then your bypass valve may not be getting any vacuum.
