2006 9-5 Tire recommendations, anyone?

Ok, the new to me 2006 9-5 with 235/45 17 Pirelli P6 all seasons are nearing their end of life stage, minor hydroplaning will only get worse, and winter is coming.
Sears has a sale on Michelins, $70 back plus an additional 10% if you have a Sears charge card, but the $250 plus per tire is pretty high for a top of the line Exalto hurts. Sale ends 11/7.
Some have recommended Dunlop Sport Signatures which (IIRC) run $160 each, or Kumho Exta LS Platinums run $130, both before the 10% discount. I was happy with Kumho ASTs on my 9000, good dry, wet and snow grip and a very quiet tire, but I only had them 10,000 miles when I sold the car. I think the Platinums are a higher rated tire.
What are you guys running in the 17 inch size?
This is my daily driver in the NYC area, and I have always run all seasons with no trouble.
Thanks in advance.
