The car frame and position of engine in engine compartment is slightly different from car to car and as you can understand, a 1/4" extra to the right almost ruins your chances to get the bolt in and out. That's why it is not high on my list of things to do.
Also, if you could hang the pulley in place and then come in with the bolt it would be easier but the bolt, washer and pulley has to be lowered and tilted sideways in one careful move to get the threads in the hole.
After dropping something down into the frame a couple of times, you are pretty tried even if you tried with a piece of tape or a little bit of gooblygoo on the back to hold them together.
If you want to go the extra route, you can remove battery and transmission mount to push engine a bit over to the side to give you more room. I did belt, pulleys and transmount at one time and noticed it gave just a little extra space.
It is the same partnumber for the timing cover for the 05 and up as for the 04 and older so that means it has to be drilled and threaded.
