Is there any chance that the 9-5 manual trans setup has a rubber shift coupler as was the case in the 9000s. On our 1991 9000 the shift coupler deteriorated to the point where we could not shift into 1st or 2nd gears. We used the "zip tie" method of tying the coupler together and that worked out fairly well until we could ultimately have our mechanic replace the coupler with a new one.
