Well, I ran into some nearly new 245 45 17 tires for next to nothing and after some research decided to put them on a 9-5 sedan. Picked up some 17x7.5 rims from the RACK and had them mounted. All the numbers said they should work and by god, the backs and the fronts fits with no real problems. The only issue that exists is if the front wheels are turned and there is a good bump, they will rub briefly.

Now to some questions about the tires and other stuff...

These tires have a "mount this side out" marking, but no directional arrow. Are these directional tires, and if so how can you tell? There is no left or right marking?

Can these tires cut down on MPG's by about 10-15% or so? I have not proved it's the tires yet, but may have to by putting the old ones back on.

Now for the review:

The car seems to be "on rails" with these tires. Must less micro steering wheel adjustments. It just goes straight.

The ride is just a little bit smoother since these tires have a slightly larger side wall.

The quickness is just a bit slower due to the above.

Cornering, OMG. On and off ramps are amazing. Again, on rails. I have not been able to get the tires to make a sound and I will not be testing it any faster than I have tried. May have to find an open lot / track somewhere.

The look of the car from the side is a little bit more like the Crysler models with the "full looking tire in the well" look.

Any comments / questions / answers are welcome.
