I just did this yesterday....
Have you ever removed the alarm module before to replace the batteries? If so, then it's the same process to remove the unit and to take the circuit board out.
Once the module is out and the board is removed:
1) remove the red jumper prior to doing any circuit work
2) Note.. there are 3 capacitors in question to replace
a) just be sure to note the negative vs. positives side.. (new capacitors have longer wire on positive side, and negative sides are typically marked with a stripe on capacitor)...
b) postive is marked clearly on the top side of the board...
3) to remove old capacitors.. just heat up the contacts from under the board and you can gently start wiggling out the old capacitor...
4) then insert the new ones through the holes, and use a very small amount of solder from under the board, and ensure you have a good contact..
5) snip off the excess wire length from underneath.
6) reinstall red jumper ..
7) seal up unit, and reinstall .. same as you did for the batteries.... (Be sure to seal it up well so no moisture gets into the unit..
the first time you use the key.. it will sound a little weak. as the capacitors need to charge up.. then it will have the normal chirp we all know and love
