I use it when I buy a used Saab with uncertain oil change history. Since the dealer-recommended change interval was too long, there is a good chance there is sludge, even if the prior owner(s) thought they were doing the right thing. I don't want to mess with dropping the pan and scraping the screen, so I have been following the Auto-RX regimen. So far, so good. But who knows, maybe my cars didn't have sludge anyway. Don't think a simple oil change with synthetic will help a car that already has deposits.
