The gas struts that formerly held open the rear hatch on my 2004 Arc Wagon (5-speed) have recently failed. I've read through the threads here and see it's not an unusual problem and that some of us have done the repair ourselves.
Has anyone had anyone had a dealer or other mechanic do this work? I'm wondering about costs. I can see the price of the parts online (about 40 bucks), but I can't estimate the number of man hours.
(Freaking cup holder on the dash broke this same week, but that's another story.)
