Running a 2003 Aero saloon. Since owning the car a year ago and resolving what turned out to be a major air leak where the cobra meets the turbo I am still experiencing what I would term as hesitation and slightly lumpy running at slow speed (most noticeable when driving at 30). The car just isn't smooth, it feels as though it's almost missing and running a bit rough. Feels like a fuel problem. Often changes when the car has been re-started so suspect something electronic. Also tends to be worse when engine is warmed up!

I've spent weeks search many forums and the most obvious cause is the throttle body! No errors codes at all. Drives pretty much perfect.

Another DI cartridge
New crank position sensor
New vacuum lines
Air filter etc
Coolant temp sensor
Sump cleaned - not relative but done
Cleaned throttle body a few times
Fitted correct platinum plugs - currently gapped at .8mm (tried 1mm and then .9 and improved each time)
Pulling fuse 17 helped for a day!
Cleaned MAF - looked ok though
All grades and makes of petrol - no change
MPG normal too - avg 35 MPG

On the throttle body, if that was playing up wouldn't it possibly be noticed on the vacuum (turbo) gauge as fluctuations? I know the 9-5 gauge isn't in real time but driven from the ecu but would still expect changes in the throttle to be visible?

Am wondering about the air temp sensor, O2 sensor, pressure sensor or maybe new part are duff! Coudl possibly a vacuum leak but resaerch has shown that would casue other faults too - faulty cobra seal through a check light!

Interestingly (and an oddity) is it's most noticable at about 1500 rpm, about 30MPH in 4th gear but running in first gear at 1500 rpm you'd expect the car to react even more - it's very calm and steady. It's speed related somehow???? Wheels are balanced too....

Will post results what ever I find - could be a long job according to other posts!
