My own vote is for symmetrical, so you can cross-rotate and keep tire cupping to a minimum on the Aero (with good shocks/bushings/camber shims). One of my friends went with the Conti DWS' and says they're a bit noisy (tread noise). I liked the Goodyears, and had decent experiences with the Eagle F1 M+S, but not well enough to buy another set.
The current set of summer-ish skins is an experiment to see how well an inexpensive (okay, cheap!) W-rated tire works, as I've had eight different sets of summer tires so far in my time with the car.
This year's tire choice was the latest Hercules high-perf all-season. So far, surprisingly good. Quiet, not as grippy as some tires I've had, but with a 400 tread life rating, and for sub-$90/ea, installed, it works for me. My personal faves so far are the OEM Michelins and the Pirelli PZero Nero M+S.
