My wife and I purchased a CPO (came off lease too) 2006 Saab 9-5 with 22k miles on it. I fell in love with Ziggy immediately (her name). So much so that I purchased another (same color except mine is an automatic and an Aero or Sport as they called it in 2006).
Both cars are covered until 2012. Thank goodnes because little irritating problems (which have still not been resolved) are cropping up:
1. Direct Ignition Cassette failed on Ziggy. Replaced under warranty
2. Fuel pump (and sending unit) failed causing Ziggy to become stranded going up a hill. Replaced under warranty
3. Left Xenon headlight failed on Ziggy (my Aero is an automatic). Replaced under warranty.
4. Headlight switch failed on Ziggy. Replaced under warranty.
5. G-D DARN ANNOYING SUNROOF RATTLES ON BOTH CARS. BEEN TO DEALER 8+ TIMES. STILL NO FIX. Contacted SAAB USA and they wasted my time. No support at all.
6. Left Xenon headlight flickers again. Still not fixed.
7. Front headlight failure indicator on SID continues to blink and my brights do not work sometimes on the 06 Aero.
8. Interior door trim replaced under warranty (both cars)
I still love our 06 9-5's but I swear they borrowed some of the parts from a Cavalier.
Be careful.
