Simple Green, Simple Green, Simple Green! And even better, "Extreme" Simple Green, which is marketed for aircraft.
I had grime on the bottom of my airplane that nothing would touch. I tried the Extreme SG, sprayed it on, let is sit for about 30 seconds and the gunk was already dripping off. It cleaned it up back to showplane condition. Have to look for it at aircraft supply places, like Aircraft Spruce, http://www.aircraftspruce.com/menus/cs/simplegreen.html. Regular SG works almost as well; get it at Costco.
Do not breathe the mist; just be sure to spray it downwind.
Wheels and aircraft belly grime are different problems, but SG works very well on both.
But if you use the regular SG, be sure to rinse well, as it can be slightly corrosive to aluminum. The aircraft stuff isn't.
In spite of my warnings about corrosion and not breathing the mist, it is a green product.
