The heating and cooling cycles make the screws come loose. If you make the screws really tight, you risk damaging the threads in the valve cover. Better to not make them tight and use loctite blue. But with time and heat, that gets quite hard and you cannot get the screws out easily. So you might want to carry a T30 socket or "key" as well. If you do not have those and you cannot get the screws out with the T30 screwdriver, take the rubber mat from the storage pocket in front of the shifter and wrap that around the screwdriver as a grip. This is all more of a concern changing the DIC when on the road and not many carry spare DIC units in the trunk. I have had spares in each of our 9-5's forever, and my wife was always not happy about that. But she changed her mind when we were in the Colorado mountains and the DIC went bad.
