I had a bad clutch coil on my Honda. it's the coil that engages the clutch on the compressor. could be the relay. could be the coil itself. I have not had to deal with it on my 9-5 but maybe someone knows which relay and which pins on the relay to jump to jump test the AC compressor.
but first determine whether the compressor is engaging. should be able to look at the outer clutch on the pulley to see if it is turning when AC is requested. if not engaging and you have refrig could be:
compressor relay
clutch coil
clutch itself is worn - coil is engaging but cant hold
pressure sensor - should be a place to test the reading on the freon pressure in the system sensor. this is a safety cutoff sensor in the event you dont have enough refrig in the system. the sensor could be faulty.
could it be that the recirc is opening back up? allowing outside air to come in. in 90 and humid this could seem as though the AC is not working.
hope some of these ideas help.maybe someone else knows the relays to test and jump test the compressor.
