some engine swap questions.

I have a friend who is doing the unthinkable: he has swapped out a blown 4 cylinder engine with a good v6. He moved EVERYTHING over with the engine. The radio from car will not work but the radio from the V6 parts car works fine. The car will not turn over, though, and says the key is not accepted. My thoughts were that the TWICE needs to be mated to the new V6 ECU. I'm assuming this has been done but in the other direction as I've read of folks putting a 4cyl engine in a v6 car but are there compatibility issues that should have been addressed before the swap? as in, having the TWICE divorced from the original ECU/trionic or is that even necessary? I'm reading about the immobilizer and realize that too may be part of the issue. He tried plugging the old ECU to the V6 system to see if the TWICE, etc. worked then but it still said the key was not accepted. The car turned over when it had the bad engine in the car with the original TWICE and keys.
Anyway, any thoughts on this frankensaab effort would be helpful. He will be taking the car to a friend with a tech II on monday but I'm trying to help him have all the info possible concerning marrying and divorced when talking about the electronics of the car.
Thanks for your input.
Dan
