Merlot... One of my favorite colors for 9-5s!
1. Yes, chain shops usually will pull codes for you. Or buy a sub-$100 reader yourself.
2. If you can find it, an Audio Troll Aux Input unit is the ticket. Otherwise, the FM modulators as others mentioned. Lastly, there is a mod you can do to the head unit that will allow you to plug it in the back of the unit.
3. See the key FAQ at the link below.
4. Xenons - with new capsules, there's little comparison to standard lights. With aged capsules, they're little better than your parking lights. Plan on having them replaced every two to three years. Unlike halogens, which dim a little when new, then pretty much stay the same until they break, Xenons will gradually fade away as the salts inside the arc capsule coat the inside of the capsule, eventually blocking much of the light. It's so gradual, you don't notice it at all, until you're driving one night with them on and can't see anything... If you want DRLs, I recommend the "European" version which uses the parking lights, and the little "globe" lights in the headlight assembly as the DRLs, and does not fire up the Xenons. You'll probably need new bulbs for the globe lights.
5. All I can say is enjoy the car! Keep up with the maintenance (especially the timing belt!), and you should have it a long time.
