Wow. Only 58k on a 2001. Sounds like it's a keeper!
On the timing belt - The general wisdom around here is that you NEVER change just the belt (which is what you'd get at a Saab dealer, unless you pony up for all the other bits). You should change the belt, and the three rollers (two idlers, one tensioner) that guide the backside of the belt. Typically, they wear out, and may take the belt, and the motor, with them, someplace between the 60k & 120k service.
Since three rollers at less than $300 is cheaper than a $5,000 motor rebuild, it's cheap insurance.
So, you're going to do all of them, right?
The other thing to do is the water pump. Now, water pumps typically last to the 120k service, but you've got more years than miles, so I would recommend changing the water pump. A lot of the same prep and teardown goes into changing the water pump as the timing belt, so it should just be the cost of the part, maybe with about 1/2 hour added.
Water pumps usually make a racket before failing, but I've heard of at least one that went with no warning, and the owner (my Saab specialist mechanic) was saved by his sense that something wasn't right. When the pump blew, the timing belt slipped maybe a tooth, but he caught it, and had to tear down the motor a THIRD time.
As for the SID, search here on "SID". Plenty of talk about who to send it to for the fix, and who not to!
