Thanks for all the great info. You have cleared up my confusion on the subject. I'm still wondering if $1500 for adding two years to the in-effect original warranty is worth it. This extends the original warranty from 08/2013 to 08/2015. There is a certain peace-of-mind in this. I also wonder if that $1500 can be negotiated downward. Maintenance records indicate dealer installed new rear brake pads and rotors prior to placing vehicle up for sale. This seems a bit odd on vehicle with just over 14,000 miles but does indicate service department likely did a thorough job before CPOing vehicle.
