The changes to what is covered under CPO are effected by the date the CPO paperwork is sent to SAAB (when the car is sold as CPO). I don't have the info here at home, but I think it was around mid year 2009 that they changed the items covered. So any car CPOed after that date has less covered. Example, if a 2007 was CPOed in Dec. 2009, then it would have less covered then if it would have been CPOed in Jan. 2009. A lot of interior trim items are no longer covered. Also I think they stopped covering light bulbs. The dealership your dealing with should have a list of items not covered under CPO. As far as body, there are guidlines as far as dings and scratches. We usually have to have the dent people come out and take care of any small dings and scratches. Sometimes the bumper covers will need some painting due to scatches on the lower edges.
Also remember, 2008 has the Powertrain Warranty (5 year/100,000 miles) so you may not wan't the CPO if your only going to have the car for a few years. I don't think the dealership pays SAAB for the CPO warranty until the car is sold to someone, so you may want to ask them what the price would be if you did not get the CPO.
