Taking the ignition lock out is definitely required. (Not a big job with the right instructions) I hadn't thought of water washing the likely soda/coffee crud out first. Might have cut down on the several hundred cyles I went through working the key in the cylinder with WD-40 first and then my favorite Tri-Flow Superior lubricant. I think the PTFE (Teflon) residue should keep thinks unsticky for a long time.
