Labor time to replace front crank seal?

I will be asking my Indy to look at the front crank seal tommorrow when he has my car for the water pump replacement. No oil drips on the garage floor yet but an oily mess has been growing across the bottom pan for a while and the area surrounding the front seal is worse.

OnDemand5 shows this as an 8 hour job. I know a few folks here have D-I-Y'ed this seal with no mention of any excessive labor required. What is a valid expectation for labor required to do this job?
