That was my question too........... But according to the database it is the time for the front seal. Oh well, everyone is entitled to a mistake. It gives 2.3 hours for the R & R of a water pump which I think is a little fast.
I don't have a pulley puller, or seal pullers, or large circlip pliers, and I have failed at doing the water pump, so I am not going to even try this one! But I wanted to verify what time is required to replace the front seal on a 4-cylinder.
I must have read the procedure previously because my mind was telling me:
- Remove belt
- Lift car
- Remove wheel and inner fender
- Remove harmonic balancer (special tool)
- Remove crank pully (special tool)
- Remove seal (special tool)
- Install new Seal
- Reverse above steps
I was picturing 1 to 2 hours tops and it sounds as if I was thinking correctly - this time.
