About a month ago, my '02 Aero SW simply ran dry (!) on the NY thruway heading south, while showing about 24 DTE. Happily, it coasted a considerable distance to within about 100 yards of the pumps at the service stop just below Saugerties.
I was bemused; but it's easy to imagine how some other (un-noticably small) decisions over the course of that tank of gas could have left me enraged.
In my first 100K miles, I don't think I've ever run the DTE so low. Is it possible that it's simply not reliable in that zone?
