MAF vs. O2 sensor

I'm getting P1181 from time to time, once a month or so (500-600 miles of suburban driving, mostly 10+ miles each time, car is only driven once or twice a week). The CEL comes on almost always when turning on the car, not while driving with a warmed up engine). How do I know if it's the MAF letting in too much air or the O2 sensor reading wrong down stream? Not hearing any pinging. BTW, where is the MAF? Is there anywhere I can see a picture of it and its location in the car? Car has 95k miles.
