At least we bought a 2010 last year since in the cheaper midsize sedan segment my wife was looking at, they started to have the equivalent of ESP as standard.
ESP uses the ABS system to pump an individual brake when needed to keep straight, so technically ESP is a subset of ABS. Call it ABS v2. Would I like to know it's working, yeah, is it worth a lot more money than what I already spent to go from no ABS to ABS? Gray area.
Anyway I would like to know whether this is a module part number issue or something else, before I pester my mechanic for the 6th time about this and get charged for more unnecessary "diagnostics".
If I can offer him an hour's labor (already bought the part form them) to swap in another module whenever they get another one, I would like to know that that should fix the ESP before doing that.
BBAreman has a long list of ABS module part numbers but not much on compatibility. I thought 2002-2004 would all be the same since ESP came out in 2002?
Thanks!
