Better Hubs: Timken or FAG ?

My front hubs are toasted... I made the mistake of buying generic replacement parts from a big internet distributor and low and behold the front bearings have play ... (checked AFTER mounting them by rocking the wheel: not good). Not to say I had high expectations, but zero lifespan is a bit too hard to swallow.
So I'm back to square one looking for a quality replacement: FAG is the OEM part but I've always known Timken to have a good reputation too.
Any recommendation/experience on the board ?
Thanks
