I purchased my 2001 LPT at 67K. At 90K, after reading about the sludging issue and getting increasingly paranoid, I had my indy drop the pan to look. He found some blockage of the pickup screen and deposits. He cleaned it, installed the PCV #6 kit and the car is running fine still - now at 140K. I change the oil with full synthetic every 5K, or 7500 if all highway driving.
