A performance down pipe is not inexensive:
1) You will gain very little benefit, if any, unless you also have a less restrictive exhaust system
2) A Stainless Steel down pipe will last nearly forever whereas an aluminized steel down pipe will last 4 or 5 years
3) A "Sport Cat" is closer in size to the standard catalytic converter and will typically last longer than a smaller, and less restrictive, "Race Cat"
I bought my down pipe from Genuine Saab, http://www.genuinesaab.com
