How did the old turbo fail? Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Sat, 29 Jan 2011 12:35:56 In Reply to: Turbo replacement...fault codes, ScottM, Sat, 29 Jan 2011 09:44:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If it was bad and dumped oil into the exhaust it could very well have taken out the little life left in an old Oxygen sensor. The get very sensitive for disturbances when they old.
But I kind of wonder about the mechanic since the codes are not typical O2 sensor codes but more dealing with boost pressure issues and air mass meter problems.
So I would study the air mass correction value on the Tech 2 scanner and smoke test intake and inter-cooler system and check for any air/vacuum/boost leaks.
