Toledo, home of Jeep is not a stronghold of Saab owners. However there are a good nucleus of us hanging around. Ann Arbor MI, 45mi to the north is a center of Saab owners.
There you will find K&N automotive. Three Saab only indys who are extreamly good at fixing Saabs right the first time. I do a lot of my own work, but for the hard stuff, and just to check my work sometimes, I run my Saabs up to Kirk, Nick, and Don. Don't think you will find better anywhere. A Google of K&N Automotive gives you the website on Jewitt in Ann Arbor and some comments, etc. Obviously, I think it is worth the trip from Toledo, and have been taking my Saabs there for 32yrs now.
Do not go to the local dealer Ed Schmidt. I have had nothing but bad experiences there. Seems like every time I order a part, they take two weeks to deliver me the wrong part. Once, I figured they could at least handle a warranty middle exhaust. I gave them the make model and part number. The still sent the wrong part, so I wasted a 25mi trip. Two weeks later, I showed up at the appointed time, and the "Saab" mechanic had the day off and they couldn't do the work. I told them anyone could install the muffler who knew how to remove and replace 4 nuts. I asked them to give me the muffler because I could install it in less time than it took me to drive back and forth to the dealer. No go. The 3rd time was the charm, but I waited 2hrs for a 15min job. The next day, they called to see if I would give them a good written evaluation of their work before sending me a form. I couldn't lie.
Welcome to Toledo! What are your hobbies? There are a few guys on the board from the area, we'll see if we can get you dialed in.
