I've got ~84k miles and the fron disk brakes are starting to make that squeal. Asked a shop what it entails to do brakes. Told rotors aren't able to be cut on Saabs and need to be replaced along with pads. They also indicated that pad on outer passenger side is ~1mm and outer driver side is about 2.5mm...suggesting a problem with Calipers. Wouldn't ABS / ESP account for differences? Do I need to replace the Rotors (or can they be cut)? It sounded like a $1000 parts plus labor (Rotors, pads, Calipers). I've done disk brakes myself in past, I might just replace the pads myself. Is there anything different to look out for from a Saab Caliper compared to others (typically it's one bolt flip, compress the caliper slowly, flip it pull the pads out and put the new ones in. Do the rotors come off easy on Saab or do I need to remove any additional bolts, etc. Any recommendations / advice is much appreciated?
