My turn for window roller job Posted by jgARC03SW [Email] (#1216) [Profile/Gallery] (more from jgARC03SW) on Sun, 27 Feb 2011 08:16:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Thanks to BMillar I got the door trim apart no problem. I was scared when I heard CRUNCH!! But I think the glass is fine (didn't see a break through the hole in the metal where the right roller is) and that horrible sound was the ugly death of the window roller(s). I think both are shot.
The front pass side is the bad one. So the "right" side is more accessible through the big hole in the metal door frame. How do I reach the "left" one by the side view mirror?
The glass slides up and down easily after getting it back up into position (didn't try to close it fully though) and I am pretty sure both rollers failed somehow. It was sharkfinning but the first time it went back up fine. The second time it went CRUNCH!
Are the rears different? So should I only get 2 spares and not 6?
2003 wagon.
I am waiting for new rollers to arrive this week, I had to kick the wife's non-Saab out of the garage.
Can I move the motor up and down a little at a time to safely get the window back in position when I am putting everything back together?
