like Paul said, it's not the easiest task, due to limited access.
You can remove the front passenger headlight, which gives a bit better access but this is still tight (first remove the passenger turn signal, 2 tabs for this, then 3 screws for the light). In fact, removing the turbo would make it much easier, and if you're in the mood, that would be a good time to check on/replace the exhaust manifold gasket. But I'm straying...
One of the most difficult parts I thought was to remove the metal part that connects the pump to the engine block. Swedecar came to my rescue by mentioning to use a grip lock and just pull, and it worked fine.
All in all, I'd say 5 hours or so, but I'm not too fast (I tend to misplace my tools). By the way, a tough item is always to open the radiator drain plug but you can make this easier by unbolting the radiator support (under the car) since this is the major hurdle to reach the drain; alternatively, just let the coolant escape via the turbo cooling line (put a pail under the car).
Finally, make sure you change the thermostat (another pita access, but you can find some relief here: http://www.fixmysaab.com/9-5_repair/thermostat/step1.asp?nsteps=2&nointro=1.
