Low fuel light? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 18 Mar 2011 09:45:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had the Low Fuel Light illuminate this morning for the first time in over eleven years of ownership. The fuel gage was just dipping into the red Reserve range and the SID was display 68 miles until empty.
I had another 25 miles to travel so I chose to not trust the SID over the light and gauge and I pulled off the expressway to refuel. Refueling required 15.5 gallons to fill which means the car may have still had 3 gallons of fuel in the tank (WAY more than 68 miles worth) which brings me to my question; what trips the low fuel light?
Fuel remaining in tank? DTE bekow a specified threshhold? Combination of these two?
