Re: 2000 V6 - Best and most troublefree Saab I've owned Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] (#112) [Profile/Gallery] (more from SWEDECAR) on Thu, 24 Mar 2011 08:44:02 In Reply to: Re: 2000 V6 - Best and most troublefree Saab I've owned, saabdoc, Wed, 23 Mar 2011 17:52:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I'm kind on the fence but I don't think the V6 is more expensive than any 4cyl that hasn't been serviced properly (which there are plenty of).
One big exception though and that as in your case working at the dealer and being bound by using Saab genuine parts compared to being able to buy aftermarket.
The engine oil cooler and thermostat can be had using the Cadillac Catera for a lot less money and using a brand new center section for the turbo instead of replacing the whole manifold cuts down on the price dramatically together with using a timing belt kit for the older NG900/9000 and just moving the essential parts over to the 9-5 mounting bracket.
