Thule deflector on 2003 wagon

Greetings,
My first post on 9-5. C900 owner from 1980s until 2007, then a 9000 CSE, and just came home last night with a 2003 Linear wagon. Very happy so far. The car has the usual fore-and-aft roof bars, plus a set of Thule crossbars mounted onto them.
However, I'm confused about something. My 9000 had twin Saab/Thule bars pin-mounted along the edges, and I later bought a Thule wind deflector which worked very well to cut down on noise. Although I left the bars on my 9000 when I traded it in, I deliberately saved the wind deflector.
Today I looked at the location of the sunroof and how far forward the front crossbar can mount, and it looks as if I'm not going to be able to use the sunroof if I mount the deflector. On my 9000 the forward bar was located far enough toward the windshield that the deflector came down in front of the sunroof opening, but on the wagon the fore-and-aft permanent bars begin to curve up out of the roof surface so far aft, that by the time you can mount the front crossbar, it can;t possibly come forward far enough to place the deflector in front of the sunroof
I did a search for "Thule deflector" and didn't come up with any old posts. Can someone explain what I might do to mount this? Or is it no good on the new car?
Thanks,
Bruce
